Forgot to prep something yummy for tonight's Thanksgiving dinner? Don't worry! I have spent the last three weekends testing pie recipes to find the best one so you don't have to. Trust me, make any of these five and you'll be the talk of the dessert!
I omitted the Pecans due to preference (I'm a pumpkin pie purist!) but the recipe sounds delish if you go the extra mile and add them! I topped my pie with homemade whipped cream and cinnamon. This is a Thanksgiving classic for a reason!
I had such a tough time with the custard portion of this pie (aka the filling). It was so bubbly and popped out of the pan and all over me and my kitchen. But, once I got past the mess, this turned out delicious!
This was such a hit! The ginger and orange in this recipe was a little daunting at first but ended up really amplifying the flavors of the berries. Amazing!
I added a dash of cinnamon and a tablespoon of powdered sugar to the custard and it was such a game changer! I made it without those two things st first and the custard was a little bland. The cinnamon just brought it to another level and I would not make it again without it.
*Tip: Make the crusts the night before so it can refrigerate overnight. If you're making more than one pie at a time, make a double batch of dough. It seems simple enough but I didn't think to do it until weekend number two of baking. It was super helpful!
